 It is said, “whoever saves a life saves the world entire”. If life is a girl child it means more than that. If we educate her she will transform the world. She is part of the source of Life. She nurtures Life. She deserves to be worshipped for that. She is the seed of all beautiful things on Earth. She plays various roles as Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Niece, etc. Without her part, the world would be a barren ground with nothing worthwhile to see. Even today in some remote parts of our country due to ignorance gender-biased sex-selective elimination continues. To prevent that BETI BACHAO BETI PADAO (BBBP) meaning “Save the Daughter and Educate the Daughter” emerged at the right time from the government.

Thanks to the program it saved so many girl children's life and educated them so far and will continue to do the same.

    The country has witnessed advancements in various fields with a great contribution from women too. Even though the literacy rate amongst women has shown an improvement, century-old traditions and customs still cast a shadow on the progress of the women in society. The major enigma of our society is that the girl child is denied her right to live and get educated.

   In India, we never reveal the sex of the unborn child to prevent girl child abortion in the unborn stage. From the moment a girl child is born she 

had to face oppression from different factions of the society, all over the world. The neglect of girl children as a result of son preference typically involves biased feeding practices, inadequate clothing during winter, and less and lower-quality health care. A recent analysis of surveys in India found that rural girls with two or more older sisters had a significantly higher risk of severe stunting than other children (ICRW, 2009). These childhood differentials are likely to carry over into adolescence and the nutritional status (including anemia) of young pregnant women. The study also found that females were at a significant disadvantage in terms of receiving full immunization in 2005-06, even though immunization is free and provided through mass public campaigns.

In India, the gender gap has been decreasing on various socio-economic indicators – literacy, education, life expectancy, health – even though the picture has continued to vary across regions, states, and districts. Hence, the popular expectation was that the historically unfavorable gender imbalance, especially in India’s north and northwestern regions, would improve with development, greater modernization, and growing prosperity.

As per the 2011 census, the overall Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) for India was at 918 with Arunachal Pradesh being the best-performing state at 972 female births for every 1000 male live births. Interestingly, the Child Sex Ratio (CSR) performance of Arunachal is better than its adult sex ratio. Haryana was the worst performing state with a poor SRB value of 834. Although in recent years, Haryana has seen a substantial improvement due to focused efforts. Among the union territories, Andaman & Nicobar Islands topped the country with an SRB of 968 closely followed by Puducherry at 967. Daman & Diu was at the bottom with 904.

Although there were signs of improvement overall, the government identified skewing in many areas and thus decided to implement the BBBP scheme in 100 districts across the country.

“Before the late-1990’s, the Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) for India was close to 900, which fell to a low of 886 in 2004. However, post-2004, a fast improvement but well below the “norm” of 950. A consistent explanation is required to explain both the rise and fall in the SRB.” 

A little thumbs up from a girl child will go a long way in building our Nation. Saving and Educating her is an urgent need of the moment for all of us.

Whenever a girl child is born, it first looks for her mother. Here in our Tiruvallur District, it will first encounter The District Collector for receiving Blessings and Amma Kit from Tamil Nadu. The kit has everything a nursing mother needs. Along with the kit a tree sapling, certificate and gift are given to the Mother. Both the plant and the child grow together facing the sun every day with heads high and chin up.

Life blooms from girl child only. 

Girls are not toys they are the mother of this Earth.

Life starts, nourish and ends with the girl child.

When we educate a girl child it as if planting a banyan tree, it will shelter many.

Just like the fragrance of the flower cannot be hidden, an educated girl child's presence cannot be ignored. 

A girl child is a moving flowering tree with full of fragrant flowers. 

Where there is loving Life there is a girl child.

A girl child is the brightest star in a dark sky.

Even in the womb, a girl child doesn't hurt anyone.

A girl child only asks you to allow her to grow.

It's our responsibility to save every girl child as we never know what she turns into in the future. 

Already God keeps some girl child with Him and gives less number to us every 1000 childbirth. Let's protect them.

who said girl child will be a burden? when educated she will enlight the whole world in an instance. 

You can build a house but only a girl child can make it a home. 

Nature chooses Girl child only to carry the next generation in the womb, Nature can't be wrong. Respect Girl child and Respect Nature's choice.

A girl is not only for producing offspring. She will do wonders if we allow her to spread her wings. 

A girl child is an angel without wings. Don't kill your guarding angel by your own hands. 

A girl child's heart will be immense like an ocean. It will wipe away any tears. Don't make her cry.  

An uneducated girl child is an untamed nature. An educated girl child is a tamed nature. Both are wonders. Let's salute them.

Education will illuminate even the darkest part of the heart of the girl child. 

Let's make a vow that for all the girl children we lost so far we will save coming girl children's lives from now. 

It's the tears of the mothers who lost their girl children which is responsible for the ocean water level rise. 

It is the government that educates and dispels the ignorance of parents for having a girl child.  

BBBP not only save girl child and educate her, indirectly it transforms all the lives she touches. 

BBBP is a boon to bring balance in this world. 

BBBP is one of the programs everyone agrees without any opposition as it's dealt with universal truth alone.  

BBBP gives two feathers to a girl child one life another education. 

BBBP program launched without any selfish desire. The only motto is to bring balance to the CSR.

No Mud No Lotus but a girl child is like a Lotus without a Mud too.

The world will lose all its beauty and efficacy if a girl child's life is taken by their parents.  

The government works as a warlike priority to save girl child life as war can wait life cannot wait. 

Whoever saves a life, life belongs to them. We are blessed to save so many lives so far. It's all because of so many unselfish people in our government and non-government organization.   

The world will know peace when the girl child will be equal to the boy child.

Life will be incomplete without girl child then why are you not protecting her?

The government has come up with the program BBBP not only save girl child it saves the Nation itself.

Rivers, Land, Mountain, Flowers, etc., are being worshiped as feminine energy if so why not girl child?

In India, we call our land our Motherland. If she delivers a baby girl please protect her from all means. 

On behalf of our government, we thank so many hands and hearts who assisted in the delivery and education of girl children as part of BBBP.  

Even though BBBP is in Hindi the sound behind it directly connects with life and soul.

It takes two to create life but with the help of government and non-government organizations, it takes so many to deliver and educate the girl child. 

A girl child is not just a gender different she is more than that. 

All we need is the awareness that a girl child is priceless. Our government and non-government organizations are working towards that.

As part of BBBP, we indirectly and directly prevent early marriage for girl children.

When Girl CSR touches 1000 for every 1000 Boys, we will be having a more loving life.  

As part of BBBP, We rally through remote parts of the country to dispel the darkest corner present in some people's heart that girl child is not worthy. 

As part of BBBP, We are very cautious with private scan facilities not to reveal the sex of the unborn child. 

In some cases, uneducated women itself opts for the elimination of girl child. As part of BBBP, it's our key concern to educate them on the importance of having a girl child to them. 

As part of BBBP, its more than Crores of money spent its the satisfaction we get in saving, educating and transforming girl children's lives. 

The fruit will be bitter if it's not ripe. If the time is not ripe an early marriage will lead to disaster. BBBP prevents such marriages. We have stopped more than a century of similar marriages. 

With the launch of BBBP, we see a significant improvement in CSR in all the districts we implemented. 

We have bees like active task force for district, block and village level.

We believe people will honor something when they put their statements and sign following it. That's the reason behind our signature campaign in saving the girl child.

For us, every day is Girl Child Saving day, but we fixed one day to celebrate grandly every month. Its 15th of every month. 

As you all know getting appreciation these days is like voyaging unknown. we are proud to share that we got 679 appreciation from mothers. 

Without proper training, nothing will work out well. We invested our time, energy and money for orienting key stockholders.
